19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard surfaces
A revitalized Medvedev won his first championship for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has endured a torrid year, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in specific - resulted in him falling of the top ten and finally separating with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set triumph over challenger Moutet.
It is his maiden title following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface since that period of 2023.
Success also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one distinct competitions.
"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is particularly special," commented ranked player Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the first title I got when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, comprising in the German tournament in the past months.
The player's counter-punching play style and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had led observers to doubt if his capacity to play at the top level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, striving to come to the net and play aggressively, reinforced by an improved serve.
Medvedev came back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, taking 4 of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The pair traded break points in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden tour title, seized the initiative to create a third set.
The opponent saved four initial break points in a close deciding set before the Russian broke to that score to close out the victory.
Fittingly, he secured the title with a shot at the net area, with Moutet failing to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
